See Y'all Later Saturday

Just checking in- I have to clean my studio today and take some photos of things I've been working on. I have to take TONS of photos.

I probably won't have anything to post for a couple (maybe a few) of days. I am taking a break from blogging and viewing others blogs as I am pretty ticked off right now at assuming people and "holier-than-thou people". Just makes me sick. I know that you can write whatever you want on your blog (as I am doing now) but I don't necessarily want to read what you have to say. And you don't have to read what I have to say. So, if I read something that is offensive to me, I'll back away from the computer for a while. And that is really O.K.

All right, finished now with the vent. Have a great weekend peeps!

Punchy Present

Ooooh, I'm gettin' punchy! I made this card for a friend of ours that recently had a baby boy. My inspiration for the card came from this:

A Target gift card- once I saw it at the store I just knew that I had to make a card holder with punch animals. The animals on the gift card reminded me so much of the punch animals I have seen a lot of people create. They are just so stinkin' cute and fun to make.
The bear, hippo and lion are CASED from Angie here and the frog is CASED from Meredith here.

All Stampin' Up! supplies (except the Dew Drops- why can I never get those straight on my cards?) including Canvas Cuts.

Also if you click on the pics. and "super-size" them you'll notice glue around the tiny little (1/8 circle) punches. I really don't mind the glue around the frog's spots as frogs are shiny/slimy looking anyway. I DO mind that there is glue around the animal's eyeballs as I fear I might have given them a bad case of "glue-coma". Hee-hee, I crack myself up sometimes.

Kelly had to get on the card-making bandwagon and here is what she made:

SHE really cracks me up also: "A baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do." Where does she get this stuff from? I love her sense of humor- well, most of the time- except if it has anything to do with teasing her big brother- that can get irritating..........especially now that they are out of school for the summer....................................somebody, help me!

I'm going to figure out how to make more projects using these "punchy" little guys! We'll see what I come up with.

Hope you have a GREAT day! I'm off to go buy some waffles for dinner. Yeah, you read right. I asked the kids one time what they wanted for dinner and they said "BFD". I said "WHAT did you just say?" thinking they were cussing. They replied "breakfast for dinner"! WHEW! That was close! They love BFD occasionally!

Teacher Tiles

Well hello! While I have been absent on the blog front, I HAVE been creating enough things to post for a bit. Even though school is out for the summer and we are starting the "summer routine" I have finally manged to get caught up enough to play! Up above is one of the sets of tiles that I made for teacher gifts at the end of the school year. These are soooooo easy and inexpensive and FUN to create.

The card down below is one that I made at the Annual SCS San Antonio SWAP at the beginning of the year. I don't know who designed this card so I can't give proper kudos to them. If y'all know who did then let me know, okey-doke? I did add the green/white paper flowers to the card in order for it to go along with theme of these teachers gifts- you'll see the entire ensemble in a minute.

I bought this jade plant at a grocery store and stamped on the front and then covered it with sealant- then glue-dotted (is that a word?) the paper flowers on.

And finally decorated a gift bag with the teachers names for the coasters, plant and card to go into!

Well, I just realized that I didn't take pics. of all these items together- use your imagination! The teachers loved them. I made two sets and used mostly SU! products except for the paper flowers ( I stole those from my daughter's scrapbooking stuff- hee-hee- she'll never miss 'em!).

Like I said before stamping on tiles is easy-peasy. I glued cork on the back so they would not scratch any furniture- baked the stamped tiles at 350 degrees for 30 minutes to set the craft ink and then sprayed the front with a sealer.

Hope you enjoy and I'm off to work on yet another post- here's a hint- a card inspired by a gift card!

Have a wonderful day! Lisa

Kydia's Kat

As I said before.... like a million years ago- I would post details about "Maddie". So....here goes.

The stamp "Maddie" was born from a need to build and place and nurture abandoned cats and dog's! Bernie Berlin's A Place to Bark and Meow" is where you can find the info about these stamps- the proceeds go for helping these abandoned animals-http://www.scrapbookingsuppliesrus.com/?action=product1. So far there are three designers that came up with cat stamps and you can view them on the site.

I just happen to have an affinity with Lydia or Kydia as you may well discover in her blog, Understand Blue. Her name is not Kydia, my name is not Cletus but we like to imagine and pretend and dam* it is so much fun. She has an awesome sense of humor and her art is... well, it's really art. Imaginative, original and creative. She designed the Maddie stamp. I've been trying to post more links from her site about this wonderful charity but am having problems. The best thing to do if you want to order one of these stamps is go to Lydia's blog!

ETA: ScrapbookingSuppliesrus.com will lead you to the process of ordering these stamps!

Really, if you have 10 bucks and like animals (Kydia assures me that a dog stamp will be coming out soon) and can get away from the "Stampin' Up!" hold then visit the site. Here is the card you will receive when ordering:

It's a thank-you card that you'll receive from Lisa Itatani- after you receive your stamp/stamps. Cute, huh?

Speaking of Understand Blue, Lydia sent me an all SU! bluebird! Just 'cause she's nice and she says I make her laugh. Isn't this the most adorable thing on earth?

It's actually a card that opens up. Lydia/Kydia made several of them in different colors. I'm gonna CASE this one day! Sorry the picture is so fuzzy- it really is cute IRL!

Well, that's it for now and believe it or not I am going to start working on another post right now. Here's a hint at what I'll be posting:

Y'all have a great day!
