Happy Fall, Happy Halloween Ya'll!

I put my DD's Disney CDC player in the basket on the front porch and programmed it to play "scary" music! We won't be here for the passing out of the candy but I think the Kids in our neighborhood (only about 10 kids) will like it! Then we will go to Hutto Spooky Town downtown- a very small town with LOTS of fun. We will also visit our next door neightbors for some hot chocolate and fun!

Some of my favorite things are here, without SU!! I sincerely hope that EVERYONE'S Halloween is awesome and spookily scary! Twinkie, I am so glad your DH will be here for your special occasions!. I am truly blessed that you are a part of my life and good luck to you and yours! Twila, what nice comments! And Stephanie! Sunshine when I need it! I am going to now start my blessings for Thanksgiving- Y'all have a great holiday season and please enjoy the few Halloween pics.!
My gorgeous Peeps! I tried to have babies in my 20's with my first husband- no luck. Then I met the most wonderful man when I was 33. We got married and had Peeps when I was 37 and 39! What an awesome life! Here they are and don't ya think they are cute?

Kelly- "Army Girl"- although I call her "GI Jane", and Carson- "Indiana Jones"- although I call him "my little braniac"! They are so stinkin' sweet that they don't need sugar tonight! Hmmmm- we'll see about that!!!!! Take care ya'll and Happy Fall!

Christmas Gift Cards and More!

This'll be real quick, I have to go get some carrots and celery for my black bean soup tonight and then pick up the Peeps from school!

Here's what I have been working on. They all feature: Versamark background, paper-piercing, in-colors, current ribbons and the Winter post and Snow Swirled stamp sets!

But wait! There's more! I made a cute little mini-magazine holder for them to fit in! Viola!

I'll be back later to give credits (believe it or not- the cards were my own designs!) and post more info. Enjoy for now and thanks for stopping by-

Somethng That Wasn't Promised!

I got creative last night when I realized that the last week was over! Yay me! I could not whine or moan in the last few days because it was just LIFE! I have a few blogger friends that I have recently found out have: A.) kids been in a horrible accident and B.) a husband over in Iraq and she is alone with two young boys, among other news! My blogger friends have been thru soooo much more than what I have, and I really have no right to complain about ordinary hecticness (O.K., I just made up a new word there)

This is for you guys! Love your blogs and thanks for your comments even tho' you might be hurting in some way. I am so glad I have you and TGFSCS! (Thank God For SplitCoast Stampers). Take care y'all and know that you'll always have a friend in me.

Now, here's my latest thang, y'all! It's not a PagePlate! I got sick o' those and well, I just made a card. A CARD, you say? Yes, just a card and I think it is so heavy that I can't mail it! Just fun, and next time I will lose the brads around the snowflake 'cause I think now that it is tacky- what 'bout y'all! ? Really. nine (yes, NINE) Dazzling Diamond brads are TMI, TMI, ......... I think now that the one in the middle would have been enough and then the ones surrounding the "Silver Oval Hardware". Hmmmmm..... Here it is....
I used a sketch from Mojo Monday at Poetic Artistry. Julee has sketch challenges every Monday and I thought I'd pilfer one and try it out! Her blog is www.poeticartistry.blogspot.com and she is mainly Verve Stamps (gasp!) but she also creates wonderful sketches. Check her out!

That's it for today and I am working on another cute idea as well as a tutorial for the PagePlates. Hope you stamper gals have a fantastic day! Thanks for tuning in!

That's been me the last week. I am so sorry that I haven't got to post anything especially stuff that I SAID I was going to! Last week was hectic and I am looking forward to next week. Please bear with me and keep in mind that I am O.K., just working hard at being mommy! I will comment and post soon, I just can't make any promises any more and I don't want to fool y'all! PagePeople are working hard at life right now and everything is hunky-dory so don't worry. Stay posted and thanks for checking in!

I was in such a hurry......

that I meant "tomorrow" when I typed in "tonight" yesterday. O.K. now that I have completely confused you I am going to post the info. and tute today on the plates! Not last night (like I really thought I could do it when I was sleeping!).

I went to the dollar store yesterday and looky, looky at what I bought:

ANOTHER plate for only one dollar! AND an easel (nice metal) for ONE DOLLAR! I'm finding it interesting that I can mix and match plates, inserts and easels with this way cool project! I'm a genius! O.K., well that's stretching it and y'all know better;)

Here's a couple more pics. of the easel:

Oops, how did my Peeps get in there? Just joking- these easels are perfect for displaying any over-sized cards you make, scrapbook pages, and anything else you want to create (using Stampin' Up! products of course!).

Like I said, I'll post more later- Have a wonderful day!

I'm a Big Fat Liar!

I DID finish this "Fall/Thanksgiving" PagePlate insert after all. I just couldn't lay it down- I had to fix it somehow! I am still not thrilled with the marker coloring on the "Happy Blessings" image. I really don't know what to think about this. Maybe a re-do is in order. What do y'all think? Be honest! Too much? Ohhhh, the lack of self-confidence sometimes is such the woe of a stamper! LOL!

Tomorrow, I'll post instructions/supplies used for the first three inserts and will continue on working on more. Thanks for looking- I appreciate it!

Answering Question's and Something Old

Hi y'all-

I thought I would address a few inquiries that I have had of late! This is in lieu of posting another PagePlate insert right now but, I have something up my sleeve! Come back later and I'll give ya a looky-see! It will NOT be a "Fall" insert for my PagePlates. You wanna know why?------Well, it's 'cause I screwed up the coloring so bad that I am not comfortable with posting it. I mean total yuckiness! Maybe, just maybe, it'll be an Easter insert or maybe, just maybe a Valentine's insert. Come back to check it out!

So, here are some answers (please forgive me if I don't get to all the question's asked- I have slept since they were posed to me!).

#1. How do I attach the paper to the plates?

With mini-glue dots! I stick three on the back and when I am ready to change out inserts they come off really easily from the plate. Leave the glue dots on the paper and cover with wax paper strips for storage until you are ready to use them again.

There is a thread on SCS about how to attach the inserts to the glass plate. A lot of people (including me before I started this project) speculated that you could use velcro or magnets. I tried the magnet way and it just didn't work. I think the glue dots are the best way.

#2. Are those felt snowflakes?

Yes! They are being offered in the Holiday Mini-Catalog (United States) along with the chocolate chip felt ribbon. I love the texture and think they are the coolest evah!

#3. What do I use for my backdrop when taking photos?

I use a big piece of posterboard and prop about the top two-third against the arm of my Ott-light. This creates a "sweep" effect. The finished photo has no "cardstock" angles or lines in it. The posterboard I use is 22" x 28" big. I bought this posterboard to make a tabletop photo studio which I haven't completed yet! I found this link for instructions and was very happy to know that it was only about 10 bucks compared to more expensive "studios"- http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/07/how-to-diy-10-macro-photo-studio.html
Take a look at the whole post on this link- very interesting stuff!

And now for something old. I was perusing one of the blogs that are in Group #4 SCS SU! Only and somebody had posted a cute scrapbook page that was done with the "Wanted" stamp set. The thing that was 'wanted"? A Tooth Fairy! The page showed a little girl with a missing tooth- so cute! I remembered that I had made up a few of these tooth fairy tins last year (this is for a little girl) and got one out to photograph it. I've seen this poem everywhere on SCS as well as a lot of tooth fairy tins and can't remember who inspired me! My bad! This uses "Pretty Princess" stamp set which is now retired and as a matter of fact, I just sold the set to somebody in Georgia!

You can't see it but the "tooth fairy" letters on the outside were covered in crystal effects. Oh, also the stamp set used for the outside letters was "Alphabits" I believe. Also retired.

Off to play some more. Hope you enjoyed and please visit again. Thanks for stopping by!

PagePlate #2- Christmas Insert

Hello again! Can you believe two posts in one day? What is going on here!? Ooooohhhh- me likey this one. You wanna see the whole shebang? Here goes:

ALL new and current stuff! SOMEBODY STOP ME! LOL I am having way too much fun here at the PageStudio. Chat with y'all later!

Lisa

Postin' a PagePlate!

Hola Stampers! First of all, let me say that I'm sorry for my absence. I have NO excuse! Just procrastination and business, I guess. Second of all, before we get to the plate, THERE ARE NEW STAMPS IN DA HOUSE! Yes, yes, yes- I finally received my very first order from the new Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book and Holiday Mini-Catalog. They came in yesterday afternoon and I asked Ray if he could take the Peeps to karate- so I could play! Well mostly I just ooohed and aahhhed- I am so happy to have new stuff! Here's a pic. of just a small amount of "stash" that I received yesterday.

I am going to try and post several things in the next few days- made with my new goodies and we'll see how that works out- okey-dokey?

Now for the first installment of the PagePlates! I decided to make the "Halloween" one first since that holiday was coming up soon. I'm going to make some more holiday inserts today and will also try to get those posted. So, are you ready? Taaaa-Daaaa!
This pic. wasn't easy to take with the plate being clear and all.

I do have another with a black backdrop-wanna see? Unfortunately, with the black backdrop you can see every little speck of crud on the plate and backdrop- I'll have to work on cleaning that up!

I'll also work on posting a list of ingredients used to make these. For the Halloween one, I used a lot of retired paper (Creepy Crawly) and ribbon. But now that I have current stuff I'll start making the other inserts with that.

Hope you enjoy for now and thanks for visiting!

News Flash! PagePup turns 14!

I guess at the age of 14 he's not a pup any more! This is Einstein- THE most sweet, loving boy in the world. He's part Chow and part Golden Retriever. I got him from a nurse that I used to work with. He was only 7 weeks old and now he's 98 to you and me! He is not the brightest puppy in the world (even tho' his name is Einstein!) but that has never mattered to us. He has been a joy to have for the last 14 years and knowing that he is near the end of his life simply crushes me. The PagePeeps will be crushed also. He is doing VERY well as far as his health is concerned and he looks great- don't ya think? I hope to have him around just a little longer. Happy Birthday, Baby Einstein!

Jeez, my baseboards need to be cleaned! And yes, that is a SpongeBob party hat he's wearing! He was most certainly was more interested in getting his birthday treat than wearing that hat. AND no, those are not my toes or hand in the pictures (sorry Ray [DH], but I'm so glad that those are your toes!!!!).

Stay tuned for another post tomorrow morning. I'm planning on working on my plate project that I saw at convention. Should be fun!
